Come with us and explore beautiful Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore that hugs the south shore of Lake Superior in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. It’s known for the dramatic multicolored Pictured Rocks cliffs. We will paddle along beautiful cliffs and explore caves and waterfalls. We have partnered with our kayak friends in Munising so we could offer the best Kayak trip in the U.P
We have reserved a campsite right off the Lake so after our paddle, and Sunset we (Scott & Ariane) will cook you a rockin dinner that ends the day right along with some local Munising Craft Brews.
This is the only trip along the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore that shows you the best of the park. Cruise aboard a 56-foot passenger vessel and launch your kayak right where the most notable scenery begins.
What’s so cool about launching from the boat…The boat follows you—making it more safe and convenient for varied ages and abilities. Because the launch boat follows you along as you paddle, you’ll always be within a reasonable distance of emergency help and restrooms. You can choose to take a break at any time, making your trip as comfortable as possible. (We don’t recommend this tour for smaller children.)
This trip is approximately 4-5 hours long with around 2 hours—or 5 miles—of kayaking time. Your tour begins at the East Channel of Munising Bay and heads into Lake Superior where you will launch your kayak just past Painted Coves. Once finished with the paddle portion of the trip, board the boat for a ride back to shore.
The night before our launch, you are invited to camp with us at Bay Furnace Campground part of the Hiawatha National Forest. The launch is right down the street so this is a great place to set up a home base. The campground is on Lake Superior. We have a reserved spot very close to the Lake. We will prep for the next day's paddle and get to know each other.
Saturday September 20th - We will meet at our designated launch site at approximately at 1:30. Our trip launches at 2:30. NO LATE arrivals please. The boat launches at 2:30 sharp.
We will paddle the most picturesque portion of Pictured Rocks. Highlights of the tour include Lovers Leap, Rainbow Caves, Indian Head, Grand Portal, Battleship Row, Flower Vase, Chapel Cove and Chapel Rock.
